KINETIC MY DEAR MALEVICH

This project uses video glitching of Chambers' "My Dear Malevich" (The six pieces shown in the "Suprematism Infinity: Reflections, Interpretations, Explorations" exhibition (Columbia University, New York City, New York [December 10, 2015]; accepted for the Russian American Cultural Center (RACC) Art Collection, New York City) to disrupt and discover new versions of each piece in kinetic (video) form. Pause the videos to view stills. These versions move towards Neo-Suprematism.

Glitch art is the practice of using digital or analog errors for aesthetic purposes by either corrupting digital data or physically manipulating electronic devices. An electronics glitch is defined as an undesired transition that occurs before the signal settles to its intended value. Chambers considers these "errors"/"transitions" as desired representations ... mechanisms that move the "My Dear Malevich" pieces into another realm ... exploration of the beyond ... Neo-Suprematism.

MDM-18 from "My Dear Malevich", which is similar to Kazimir Malevich's "Black Square", is shown below:
